It’s Time to begin Again
I’ve started this blog to give myself and others in my collection of family and friends, a safe place to speak their our mind. I have noticed that I have a lot of opinions. Opinions based on an ideology that some within my family may deem liberal. But they are my opinions. With the recent passing of my mom, I have realized that life is too short. Not taking away from my father’s passing, which in and of itself changed me. Recently, a good friend, Michael Hazelwood, passed away. His death caused a ripple in the community that passed by me, affecting me and everyone else in its path. I’m sure the effect was different for everyone. For me, it opened my eyes to how quickly things can change. How regardless of religion, beliefs, quality of character, health, anything can happen. And it can happen fast. Add to that other elements of my life that are occurring right now and you have a soupy mixture of positivity and negative feelings that add up to one big therapeutic session with your thoughts on a nightly basis.
Here, I want people to be able to read what I say and not feel judged. I won’t judge anyone. Discourse should be easy, even if argumentative. If you want to let out some feelings, about a topic or even a person, do it. I was taught that if you don’t have something good to say, don’t say it. Well of course. But there may be a time you can say it. Use your best judgement. I am also a golden rule advocate. Laughter is the best medicine in my pharmacy. There are many clichés, analogies and metaphors I could go through. So use this blog. Enjoy it and let’s talk. I am the moderator. Yes, I may be objective about what I say and what I allow. But my ultimate goal is to allow people to speak their mind. And I can not do that if I am not open myself.
